Salt for a Stuffy Nose?..Visit the Salt Therapy of Georgia Center
I know exactly what you’re thinking…. What is Salt Therapy??
The origins of salt therapy began in Eastern and Central Europe, and can be traced back to the mid 19th Century, when a Polish health official, Dr. Felix Boczkowski, noticed that the workers of salt mines never became ill with any lung diseases.
Himalayan Salt Therapy, is a natural, drug-free and holistic therapy, helpful in treating respiratory diseases such as Asthma, COPD, Emphysema, even a common cold. It’s known to dramatically improve lung function by increasing lung capacity and stamina.
Salt therapy is also helpful with skin aliments such as eczema and acne, by reducing inflammation on the skin and improving circulation on the skin’s surface. Additionally, it can be used with your currently prescribed therapy or on its own, as it has little to no side effects.
THE SALT THERAPY OF GEORGIA EXPERIENCE
I stumbled upon this hidden gem on Groupon and thought that it sounded relaxing, which is just what I needed after a long week.
Upon entering this quaint location in Smyrna, Georgia (10 miles from downtown Atlanta), I was greeted by Brad Menz the owner/manager. He’ll ask about your symptoms and explain how the sessions work.
Because the salt is infused into the room, fine amounts will deposit on your skin and hair, but hair covers are provided. I would suggest that you opt for the foot covers and remove your socks and shoes. The salt granules feel amazing under your feet!!!
THE HIMALAYAN SALT ROOM..Ahhhhhh
It’s a 9 X 30 foot(approx..) Himalayan salt lined room, with large salt granules covering the floor with a slight orange hue lighting. The temperature is a comfortable 75 degrees, and blankets are available as well. The room seats 6 in reclinable chairs with low music to begin your 45 minutes session.
In about 10 minutes, you will begin to feel the salt deposit in your passages and open up your sinuses, which I encourage you to breath deeply during your sessions. At this point, relax, take a nap, or read a book.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU COME
- 15-20 sessions are recommended for long term results.
- With irreversible conditions you may need to come for more sessions.
- The sessions should be frequent; about two to three a week is suggested.
The Salt Therapy of Georgia Center visits are $30 each for 45 minutes and $75 for 3 sessions. In most patients, after a course of Salt Therapy symptoms disappear. The treatment’s efficacy is estimated at 75-98%.
Once it’s over, you exit the room and immediately feel the difference as having much less sinus congestion and pressure. Oh, lick your lips…to taste the salt deposit. Also, check out the Salt lamps and supplements for resale.
