Yonah Mountain Vineyards Tasting Experience

Deeply-rooted at the base of the famous Yonah Mountains in Cleveland Georgia, Yonah Mountain Vineyards is producing some of the state’s most iconic Chardonnay, Petit Manseng, Cabernet Sauvignon varietals.

Yonah Mountain Vineyards is a two-hundred acre family winery making world-class wines from twenty planted acres of Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot, etc..Owned by Bob Miller, the winery offers several tours and tasting experiences in the Cave, Tasting Room, or the Reserve room.

The Tasting Room Experience

Upon entering the tasting room, you will be greeted by the grand circular tasting bar while awing the high ceilings and classic decor. Sommeliers waste no time getting you started on the flight of your choice. During my recent visit, I selected the mixed flight (my standard) to experience a bit of what Yonah produces.

Genesis 9 – My Wine Pick

Of all the samples, Genesis 9 is my favorite wine at Yonah Mountain Vineyard. It’s definitely a full-bodied red blend with smell notes of dark berries, pepper/spice, and leather. After coating your pallet you will taste the bold black cherry and currants, with hints of black pepper. Low acid, medium tannins, and skilled winemaking make Genesis 9 a 94 point wine in my notebook.
