Airbnb Experiences The New Trend in Travel Tours
Airbnb created a concept several years ago to connect tourists with local tour guides that allow for a more authentic experience. On my recent vacations to Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro, I booked nine AirBNB experiences, read about seven of them (unfortunately I overbooked, Lol).
Airbnb Experience Benefits
Airbnb experiences are the best way to tour, even your own town/city for several reasons: authentic experience – learn and do, personal space such as home and car, friends,
- Small-Group Size – Most tours host on average 10 tourist and often times you will end up as the only one. I did, which was a major perk!
- Multi-Lingual Host – Most hosts are multi-lingual and can offer most tours in any language, of course, the host country is the primary.
- Great Price and Value – The tour rates are dirt cheap especially if you are traveling to a country with a lower GDP. All of my walking tours were less than $30 for two hours, 1:1, and lead by a local resident. Half the price of traditional tours and you will probably be on a bus. Just saying
- Contributing the Local Economy – This is my favorite part. Your tour fee goes directly to a host which is in most cases, a local resident. I’m not discouraging big business however, look out for the small buy as well. The ratings and reviews are what helps individuals grow their tours, making it a career and a way of life.

Carlos will pick you up from your hotel and whisk you away to Prainha Beach, and hike for about 30 minutes to access the secret beach, Praia do Secreto. If the waves are too high, Carlos will compensate by taking you to another beach. My favorite was the Classico Beach Club. Delicious drink and food, few tourist, amazing views.
