Glamping in San Antonio: The Midtown Novelist Camper
A close friend of mine asked, “Who just wakes up and decides to go glamping?” I guess, I do. Honestly, I don’t know how glamping popped into my mind, but this was just the adventure that I needed. How hard could it be, simple camping style lodging with hotel amenities, well maybe a bit more. For my unique glamping experience, the first stop is always AirBnB.
The Midtown Novelist- Airstream
The camper is a vintage 1968’s original Avion camper, hosted by Christopher, in the Beacon Hill neighborhood of San Antonio, Texas. After a late flight, I made my way to World Market for camp groceries. Upon arrival, Christopher and his girlfriend aided with my bags into the camper.
Home Sweet Home for 3 Days
Upon entering the camper, you are welcomed with cold air conditioning (Thank You God)! Christopher will give you an overview of the features and the rules. He is very available as he lives directly in front on the property.
The refrigerator/ freezer has ample space and the microwave is perfect for warming left overs.
The camper will sleep 3 comfortably, ideally, a couple and a small child. The beds provide a comfortable sleep, with multiple fan provided full circulation.
The bathroom has a shower that doubles as a tub. There is plenty of hot water, enough to make you forget that you are in a camper.
Added Notes:
- The location was safe and located centrally in a busy neighborhood.
- Expect to see an insect or two. Remember its lodging in nature.
- Know where the closest hotel is as a backup, in case you don’t like glamping.
- Most importantly…Have Fun!
