Harper’s Table Experience: Five Reasons to Dine Here
So happy to share this as my first food post!! Harpers Table in Suffolk, Va is my most favored hometown restaurant.
5 Reasons To Check Out Harper’s Table:
1. Locally Owned and Operated
The restaurant is owned by Harper Bradshaw, a Virginia and Suffolk native, that opened in 2012. Although Bradshaw has worked and led kitchens at several of Hampton Roads’ best restaurants, Harper’s Table marks his first endeavor as chef and owner.
2. Locally Sourced Ingredients
The dinner selections are bursting with locally sourced and delicately prepared ingredients such as lettuce greens from Virginia’s Eastern Shore and Angus beef from Windhaven Farm in Isle of Wight County.
3. The Menu
The menu host a range of meats including local fish, hand-cut steaks and Berkshire pork. Vegans you will not be left out!!
Some Seasonal Selections:
Soft Shell Crab (served as an appetizer/entrée)
Pork Belly Biscuits (Greasy, Salt, and Sweet…..Pure Heaven)
Tommy’s Clams (Wine wine
3. Wine and Spirits
The bourbon focused craft cocktail list includes a local award winner called, “The Tidewater” (my personal favorite) which includes a mix of white bourbon, honey simple syrup, lemon, and fresh cracked egg white…please don’t knock it, til you try it. The wine list includes Spanish and Italian varietals.
5. Customer Service Most Noted Experience
One night I dined with my mother and, she had dental work done earlier in the day that left her mouth sore. Rather than cancel dinner, the kitchen staff accommodated my mother by making a vegetable soup from scratch, and even came out to ensure that she was able to eat it. Need I say more about the level of service at Harper’s Table…nothing less than excellent!!
